Thursday November 3rd 2011 - Houston TX

Right, here's a run down on comments from the travellers.
While staying at the Millennium they all felt very safe, with armed guards outside the facility and bomb sniffer dogs in evidence. Being so close to the UN building foreign dignitaries stay there frequently.
Everyone enjoyed the snow, but not the cold.
you will have to wait for your quilter to arrive home to fill you in on what she did!
The 4am start from New York was NOT a big hit, but it got everyone to the airport with plenty of time up their sleeves. By the time I caught up with them in Houston they were a very weary bunch.
Half day tour of Houston was amazing and showed the pretty side of Houston. From the pictures I've seen the multi-coloured iguana was a very big hit. Maybe visiting the Galleria shopping Mall really was the highlight.
Yesterday the Space Centre was on the itinerary for some - they found it very interesting. How I would have loved to have gone with them. More shopping filled in the afternoon.
Wednesday evening we all attended Preview Evening for Festival. 1000's of quilters from all over the world descended on the Convention Centre from 5pm. 19 aisles of stuff to look at, play with and purchase.
The exhibitions this year appear bigger than ever and I'm sure take up as much room as the 19 aisles of merchants.
Thursday opening hours were 10am - 8pm. I'm sure some lasted the distance - I use didn't!
Tomorrow Hazel & I head for home. Yippee!!!

Next time,

Lesley
